About Lashings

Lashings was the brainchild of British pastry chef Jackie Lee Morrison. We were a small batch, artisan dessert bar and café.

Having worked in 5* hotels and high-end restaurants all over London for years, Jackie saw moving to New Zealand as an opportunity to really start creating the food she wanted to feed people.

From our range of True Brownies (single-origin chocolate brownies, made from chocolate produced right here in Wellington), to delicious treats made to satisfy your sweet tooth and savoury goods to get your mouth watering, Lashings wants to #MakeYourBellyHappy.

Our café opened September 2018 and closed April 2022.

We're proud to be part of the hospitality industry in Wellington and were nominated for the 2019 Felix Awards Outstanding Cafe of the Year, Emerging FOH Team Member of the Year, and People's Choice. We have also been nominated for the 2020 NZ Food Awards Local Hero of the Year, and won the 2020 Felix Awards Restaurant Association Local Hero Resilience Award for our work setting up and running The Pandemic Pack in Wellington. Jackie was nominated for Outstanding Hospitality Professional of the Year in 2021.

We're proud to use some of the following local and artisan suppliers in our café and products:
