Welly On A Plate 2018
This last weekend we popped up at the Wellington Chocolate Factory for Welly On A Plate over 2 packed evenings. Insane doesn't even cover it - with 800 people served in the space of 6 hours, we slammed out brownies paired with ice cream, 5 different sauces and 10 different toppings (all made in house, even the ice cream) and hot chocolates solidly all night. Both nights the queue reached from our doors all the way down Leeds Street and stayed that way solidly for 3 hours - it was astounding to us and resulted in a bit more than a reasonable wait the first night (and having to turn people away), but we rallied the troops and got more hands on deck the second night to get brownies into people's hands much faster. With Welly On A Plate you never really know what's going to happen and we are just so grateful that this was an event people obviously wanted to attend.
Biggest thanks ever to: Sopheak Seng for styling and co-ordinating, Yvette Edwards for the beautiful greenery, Wellington Chocolate Factory for letting us pop up in their awesome space, every member of Team Lashings for being such troopers, and every single person who got in that monster queue - we had a blast doing it and so appreciate your patience, understanding and wicked enthusiasm.
